The Dutch procurement organization DMO has announced the procurement of up to 1,275 IVECO Light Multirole Vehicles (LMV). The signing of the contract is currently being prepared. The contract also includes the delivery of 130 remotely controlled weapon stations. It is currently unclear whether this is the first version of the LMV or the LMV 2 version presented in 2016.

In the Dutch army, the LMV will primarily replace the fleet of Mercedes-Benz 290 GDs, which are currently in use in large numbers. The LMV replaces the Land Rover Defender in the Navy and the YPR in the Military Police.

The Iveco LMV is an all-wheel drive vehicle that is currently in use in 17 nations. It can be provided with modular protection against a ballistic threat and against mines.
