On May 17, the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the German Armed Forces called on companies on the European procurement platform Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) to participate in the tender for an airborne rescue center special operation (LLRZ SpezEins).

As part of the "airborne medical facilities" (LSE) concept, the Bundeswehr has procured a basic module LLRZ SpezEins, with which the necessary medical support can be guaranteed independently for a limited period of time. In January 2023, the Bundeswehr ordered eight light airborne rescue centers for delivery by 2024 (ESuTreported).

In order to strengthen the ability to provide medical support, the LLRZ SpezEins are now to be procured as the lightest and most mobile emergency surgical treatment facility in the Bundeswehr. The facility includes an emergency room, an operating room (OR), an intensive care unit, laboratory and a medical supply station. The material for the functional units, which are mainly accommodated in tents that can be moved by air, should not weigh more than around five tons.

In the first step, the LLRZ SpezEins is to be developed and a system for prototypical verification is to be delivered. In connection with tests at the military technical departments of the Bundeswehr, the series device is to be developed from this. In the planned framework agreement with a term of seven years, the delivery of up to six complete systems is to be agreed, with a firm order for four complete systems.

The BAAINBw has set June 21, 2023 as the deadline for receipt of applications to participate and wants to invite participants to submit bids on July 10, 2023.
