Am 16. November hat die Bundeswehr das 40. Transportflugzeug des Typs A400M vom Hersteller Airbus Defence and Space übernommen, wie das Team Luftwaffe via Twitter gemeldet hat. Die Industrieabnahme war laut einem Tweet des Bundeswehr-Beschaffungsamtes BAAINBw bereits am 9. November erfolgt. Der Überführungsflug ist für Dezember angekündigt. In diesem Jahr soll noch eine weiter A400M an die Bundeswehr übergeben werden, die eigentlich für 2023 geplant war.
The Bundeswehr has ordered a total of 53 A400M aircraft through the European procurement authority OCCAR, which are to be delivered by 2026. The initially planned sale of 13 machines could not be realized, nor could the planned operation of these aircraft in an international squadron at Lechfeld air base.
The A400M is now proving to be the Luftwaffe's workhorse. During deployments by the German Armed Forces and NATO, numerous air-to-air refueling operations can be attributed to her. According to the Luftwaffe team on Twitter, almost 1,500 tons of fuel have been delivered to more than 400 aircraft over Poland and Romania alone in 1,200 flight hours since the beginning of the Ukraine war.
Vor wenigen Tagen ist nach elf Jahren Erprobungsflugdienst überdies der A400M-Prototyp mit der Seriennummer MSN004 außer Dienst gestellt worden. Das Flugzeug erhält im Werksgelände in Bremen einen Ehrenplatz. Nur noch einer der fünf Prototypen ist noch im Dienst.
Mit Bestellungen von 178 Transportflugzeugen aus zehn Ländern gehört das A400M-Programm zu den großen europäischen Rüstungsprogrammen.
