The Swedish procurement authority Försvarets Materialverk (FMV) has ordered 90 units of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class through a framework agreement between FMV and Daimler AG. The vehicles will be deployed at Swedish Air Force bases and facilities across the country.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class G 300 CDI 6X6 with double cab have a trailer load of 2.5 to 14 tons at the rear and offer space for four people. The front of the vehicle is also equipped with a detachable trailer hitch. A steel and aluminum platform bed behind the crew cab and roof rack provide storage space for equipment such as snow chains, fire extinguishers and other Government Furnished Equipment, as well as for maintenance.
As a system supplier, Mercedes-Benz AG also supplies a so-called "secondary material package" with technical training documents and other tailor-made documentation.
The G-Class 300 CDI 6×6 vehicles will be delivered to FMV from September 2020 to February 2022.
