The German aerospace industry is calling on politicians and the Ministry of Defense to make an early decision on how to proceed with the procurement of the Eurofighter fighter aircraft. According to Michael Schöllhorn, President of the Federal Association of the German Aerospace Industry (BDLI) and CEO of Airbus Defense and Space, a contract for the further development of the aircraft called Long Term Evolution (LTE) should be concluded next year. Tranche 5 must then be commissioned in 2025 so that production does not stop, said Schöllhorn today at a BDLI press conference in Berlin.
