Eurofighter Consortium shareholders have appointed Carlo Mancusi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH. The appointment has been effective since January 1, the company writes in a statement. Mancusi comes from the Italian armaments group Leonardo, where he was most recently responsible for the Eurofighter and Joint Strike Fighter programs within the Aircraft Division. He succeeds Herman Claesen, who is returning to BAE Systems as Managing Director for the Future Combat business area Air Systems will be responsible. In addition, the supervisory board of the Eurofighter consortium will be headed by a woman for the first time. As BAE Systems writes in a statement, Andrea Thompson has been appointed to this role. The manager has been working for BAE Systems as Senior Vice President since 2016, most recently responsible for European and international business.
