After the implementation of the P2Eb software master, the Meteor medium-range guided missile can be used on the Bundeswehr's Eurofighter. The Eurofighters, which were the first to be converted, are stationed at the Tactical Air Force Squadron 74 in Neuburg an der Donau. The upgrade also includes new radar software. Both measures improve the operational value of the Eurofighters.
Meteor is a medium-range air-to-air guided missile that, according to unofficial reports, can attack highly agile targets at a distance of 200 km with over Mach 4. The 185 kg missile is guided by an active radar seeker and uses an impact or proximity detonator to activate its explosive charge. The Bundeswehr ordered 150 guided missiles in a first batch in 2013, and these will be delivered from 2020. A second lot with 100 meteors was commissioned in 2019.
