Bombardier has delivered the first of three Global 6000 business jets ordered in June 2019 with the military registration 14+05 (civilian: C-GRDL) to the German armed forces. From September 2, 2019, the aircraft received the Bundeswehr-specific equipment from Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg. On September 10, 2019, the plane landed at Konrad Adenauer Airport in Cologne/Bonn. The delivery of the two remaining machines is scheduled for October 2019. After training the crews, the first operational flight could take place as early as November 2019.

The procurement of the three Global 6000 sets a record for a project of this magnitude. There are just four months between ordering and delivery of the last machine.

The Global 6000 is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR710 engines, each with 65.6 kN thrust, which are developed and manufactured by Rolls-Royce Germany in Dahlewitz. Up to 17 people can be transported in the 30 meter long aircraft. The range is 11,000 km at an optimum cruising speed of 904 km/h (Mach 0.85). The modern Bombardier Vision flight deck with head-up display offers pilots an extended overview even during instrument flight with synthetic vision.

Bombardier highlights dispatching reliability, speed, agility, endurance and optimized operating costs as characteristics of the Global 6000. Because of the smooth running, the passengers would only be slightly affected by the flight.

The Air Force has been operating three Bombardier Global 5000s for medium-haul flights since 2012. A fourth machine is classified as a total loss after a flight accident in April 2019.
