The Finnish technology group Patria is supplying an ARIS electronic reconnaissance system to two European NATO member countries, as the company announced on February 2nd.

According to Patria, the ARIS electronic reconnaissance system allows its user to collect information about the signals from radars and other radio transmitters of opposing parties. The system can be used to detect, locate and identify radars and military systems that use radar. The system allows the customer to generate detailed identification information based on radar signals, which is critical in the modern electronic warfare battlefield.

ARIS leverages the latest receiver and signal processing technologies to ensure that even the most advanced threats do not have the opportunity to hide in a jammed or overloaded signal environment, writes Patria. The system consists of a sensor network, servers for analyzing data and creating a situation picture and user interfaces that enable central operation or remote access, including the software required for use.

Patria says it delivers a tailor-made total solution to each customer, from the antennas to the signal databases, and offers support and updates for the entire life cycle of the system.

According to Patria's description, the ELINT reconnaissance solution can be implemented as a mobile (land, sea) or as a stationary system. Based on the reconnaissance results, electronic countermeasures (Electronic Support Measures, ESM) can also be applied in the ARIS-E version.

“Patria's ARIS system is a long-used and sophisticated product that provides outstanding usability and precise intelligence in a situation where electronic warfare capabilities determine success on many fronts,” said Executive Vice President Jukka Holkeri, Global Division at Patria.
