First Finnish-Latvian CAVS vehicle delivered
With the delivery of the first vehicle from the 6×6 Common Armored Vehicle Systems (CAVS) series to Latvia, the scheduled delivery of the 200 ordered vehicles has begun. This was preceded by a two-week training course for trainers, users and maintenance personnel, as the manufacturer Patria announced. With the acquired understanding of the vehicle's usage and maintenance requirements, the Latvian Armed Forces were able to receive and safely operate the first vehicles in Latvia.
In August 2021, after almost two years of joint development, Finland, Latvia and Patria had signed a supply contract for 200 vehicles in the period 2021-2029 for Latvia. Finland has committed to signing a supply contract in the near future. The order volume should be 160 vehicles.
Das Programm steht weiteren Interessenten offen. Im September 2021 hat Schweden sein Interesse an der Mitwirkung im CAVS-Programm angemeldet.
