The armaments group Rheinmetall is currently building the Naval Mission Training Center (NMTC) in Sattahip, Thailand, the heart of which is the "Total Ship Trainer". The construction should be completed in July. According to the company, it is not only responsible for the simulators, but also for the construction of the training building at the naval base. The project also includes networking with other training institutions and the training of training staff.
Rheinmetall stellt den Total Ship Trainer auf der Fachmesse IMDEX Asia in Singapur vor: Das zweistöckige NMTC umfasse 20 Einzelsimulatoren in „Full-Mission“- und „Part-Task“-Konfigurationen sowie vier zugehörige Klassenraumtrainer und entsprechende Briefing-/ Debriefing-Ausstattung. Die herausragende Eigenschaft des NMTC-Systems sei die Möglichkeit, die einzelnen Simulatoren für ein „Total Ship Training“ zu kombinieren. Im NMTC bilden die Simulatoren „Brücke“, „Maschinenraum“, „Operationszentrale“ und „Schadensabwehr“ zusammen ein „eigenes Schiff“ und interagieren miteinander. Diese erweiterte Zusammenarbeit ermögliche ein gemeinsames Team-Training der Besatzungsmitglieder eines Schiffes.
