The Netherlands and Denmark want to jointly buy 14 Leopard 2 A4 main battle tanks and hand them over to Ukraine. As the defense ministries of both countries announced today, the vehicles are to be delivered to the Ukrainian army as soon as possible after the overhaul, which is expected to take place in the first quarter of next year. According to the information, the Netherlands and Denmark will share the cost of purchasing the Leopard 2 A4 tanks, which will amount to around 165 million euros. Information on the origin of the tanks was not given.

Zuvor hatten die Niederlande gemeinsam mit Dänemark und Deutschland Leopard-1-Panzer für die Ukraine gekauft. Dem dänischen Verteidigungsministerium zufolge sollen erste Leopard 1 in einigen Wochen für Ausbildung ukrainischer Soldaten zur Verfügung stehen.

Am morgigen 21. April wird die sogenannte Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG) erneut in Ramstein zusammentreten. Dort werden die Verteidigungsminister von mehr als 50 Ländern über die Koordinierung der militärischen Unterstützung für die Ukraine beraten.
