On September 26, 2019, the Lithuanian Armed Forces took delivery of the second tranche of 110 Unimog U5000 from Mercedes-Benz.

Lithuania ordered 340 Unimog U5000 in 2015 through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The first tranche of 88 vehicles was handed over at the end of 2018. The remaining 142 vehicles are to be delivered by 2022.

Der Liefervertrag mit einem Volumen von 70 Millionen Euro sieht in den ersten 15 Betriebsjahren logistische Unterstützung, Spezialwerkzeuge und Prüfmittel sowie weitere Garantien vor.

The new 5-ton tactical trucks will be assigned to the Lithuanian Land Forces and other units, complementing the existing fleet of equipment of the same type with which the Lithuanian forces are well acquainted. The Unimog are used for logistical support and personnel transport.
