With the conclusion of a corresponding contract between ARGE F125 and BAAINBw, technical-logistical support (TLB) for the F125 frigates is secured for a further five years until March 1, 2029, thyssenkrupp Marine Systems has announced. The contract also includes the testing/training center (EZ/AZ F125) in Wilhelmshaven.

The ARGE F125, consisting of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems as the lead company and the NVL Group, wants to continue to support the BAAINBw in maintaining the operational readiness of the F125 class ships under the constantly evolving requirements, said Oliver Juckenhöfel, Head of Operating Unit Surface Vessels at thyssenkrupp Marine Systems after the signing. “The F125 class will be the backbone of the German Navy’s operational commitments in the coming years. Ensuring the operational readiness of the ships together with the public client is an active contribution to the security policy of the Federal Republic of Germany, which we are happy to make,” continued Juckenhöfel.

“For us, the continuation of the TLB contract is confirmation that the good and successful cooperation of the last few years is also viewed as such by the German customer,” added Patrick Buggenthin, program manager ARGE F125. “We are pleased to continue to support the crews and the many soldiers and employees on land so that the ships can carry out their duties and make a contribution to the operational readiness of the German Navy.”

According to information from tkMS, the frigate Baden-Württemberg is currently the first ship of the class in the UNIFIL operation off Lebanon (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) and is impressively demonstrating its capabilities there.
