The "Bundeswehr handguns and light weapons" concept describes the conceptual requirements for a capability-based, task-oriented equipment with handguns and light weapons for the Bundeswehr's range of operations as a joint Bundeswehr, ongoing basis for adequate equipment. For this purpose, different categories are derived and presented.

The future version of the concept is in the process of being checked and signed by the Bundeswehr. It is the basis for the current small arms projects shown in extracts.

The handgun projects

The pistols previously used in the Bundeswehr are to be replaced by two pistol projects. On the one hand there is the Special Forces Pistol system and on the other hand the New Pistol system, cross-sectional.
