According to Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht, Germany will contribute to the protection of Polish airspace. According to a statement by the Ministry of Defense in Berlin, the minister and her Polish counterpart Mariusz Blaszczak today agreed to support Poland with the two protection components, consisting of Patriot anti-aircraft systems and combat air patrolling by Eurofighters.

"The details are now being worked out jointly by our experts," the minister is quoted as saying. Further coordination is to take place jointly with NATO and bilaterally.

Lambrecht expressed her condolences to her counterpart on the deaths of those who died last week when a rocket hit the Polish-Ukrainian border. The offer to contribute to the protection of Polish airspace was made immediately after
