Pilot services Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices and Technical Exploitation - Evolution of course-based training for the armed forces
Markus Lischka
The defining image of a possible threat to German forces from makeshift explosive devices (Improvised Explosive Devices, IED) – the term unconventional explosive and incendiary devices (USBV) is used in the police context – results largely from the deployment of the Bundeswehr in Afghanistan.
This is a process that uses scientific methods and procedures/tools to derive from collected data, information, material and materials so that data and information of intelligence or operational value can be derived. The highly intense character of LV/BV conflicts may lead to a significantly increased need for the resources of C-IED evaluation and for the resources of "technical exploitation".
