The French Procurement Authority (DGA) has awarded the contract for Conditional Tranche 4 (TC4) of the Scorpion program to the EBMR (Engin Blindé Multi Role) consortium, consisting of Nexter, Arquus and Thales.
Wie Nexter mitgeteilt hat, besteht die vierte Tranche aus 88 gepanzerten Aufklärungs- und Kampffahrzeugen Jaguar und 302 gepanzerten Mehrzweckfahrzeugen Griffon. Mit diesem neuen Auftrag steige die Zahl der bestellten Jaguar- und Griffon-Fahrzeuge auf 150 bzw. 909 und erreiche damit das im französischen Militärprogramm 2019-25 festgelegte Ziel.
The French government wants to procure twice as many Jaguars and Griffons to renew the equipment for the middle forces, Nexter writes. In addition, there are 54 mortar carriers (Mortier Embarqué pour l'Appui au Contact, MEPAC) on Griffon, for which the procurement order was recently placed. Griffon MEPAC will be delivered from 2024.
