Die französische Beschaffungsbehörde (DGA) hat den Auftrag für die bedingte Tranche 4 (TC4) des Scorpion-Programms an das Konsortium EBMR (Engin Blindé Multi Role), bestehend aus Nexter, Arquus und Thales vergeben.
As reported by Nexter, the fourth tranche consists of 88 Jaguar armored reconnaissance and combat vehicles and 302 Griffon multi-purpose armored vehicles. With this new order, the number of Jaguar and Griffon vehicles ordered increases to 150 and 909 respectively, reaching the target set in the French military program 2019-25.
The French government wants to procure twice as many Jaguars and Griffons to renew the equipment for the middle forces, Nexter writes. In addition, there are 54 mortar carriers (Mortier Embarqué pour l'Appui au Contact, MEPAC) on Griffon, for which the procurement order was recently placed. Griffon MEPAC will be delivered from 2024.
