Der nationale UAV-Hersteller Kronshtadt Group ist vom russischen Verteidigungsministerium mit der Lieferung von fünf Komplexen mit SIRIUS-Drohnen der neuen Generation beauftragt worden, wie der Pressedienst des Unternehmens auf der Messe ARMY 2021 mitteilte. Die Auslieferung von SIRIUS – früher bekannt als Inokhodets-RU – solle im Jahr 2023 beginnen, sagte der stellvertretende Verteidigungsminister Alexej Kriworutschko.

SIRIUS is a long-duration unmanned reconnaissance and attack aircraft developed from the ORION drone. The concept was presented for the first time at ARMY 2020. The full take-off weight of the device is 2 t with a maximum payload of 300 kg. In comparison, the total weight of the ORION is 1 t with a payload of only 200 kg. According to the manufacturer, the cruising speed of the ORION is 180 km/h with a flight duration of up to 20 hours, which means that the combat range is 1,000 km.

At ARMY 2021, the Ministry of Defense also signed a contract with the Urals Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) for another batch of FORPOST-R drones. The first contract for the delivery of 30 UAVs was signed in 2019. FORPOST is a licensed copy of the Israeli Searcher 2.
