More than 25 years ago, NATO began to consider a “Soldier Modernization Program”. The future range of tasks and the increasing abundance of new threats all over the world, but last but not least the rapid technical development, especially in the field of information technology, made this step inevitable.
Die Entwicklung von Soldatensystemen von damals bis heute war rasant und stellenweise sogar revolutionär. Um auch in Zukunft leistungsfähige und moderne Soldatensysteme zur Verfügung zu stellen, wird ständig an der Optimierung und Weiterentwicklung der bereits eingeführten Systeme gearbeitet.
The system
Ab 2006 entwickelt und seit 2013 in der Bundeswehr im Einsatz, befähigt die modulare Kampfausstattung Infanterist der Zukunft – Erweitertes System (IdZ-ES) die infanteristisch kämpfenden Kräfte von Heer, seit 2020 auch Luftwaffe, Marine und Streitkräftebasis, ihre Aufgaben im auf- und abgesessenen Kampf mit wesentlich verbesserten Erfolgsaussichten und verringertem Risiko durchführen zu können. Unter Berücksichtigung des Systemgedankens wurden alle vorhandenen Einzelkomponenten aufeinander abgestimmt, um so auch eine deutliche Gewichtsoptimierung in allen Teilsystemen zu erzielen. Somit ist es gelungen, einen kompletten Systemansatz zu verwirklichen, der allen operationellen Anforderungen an ein modernes Soldatensystem Rechnung trägt.
Das System IdZ-ES hat sich im Einsatz bewährt und eine hohe Akzeptanz erfahren.
