Today, at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, Diehl Defense and Safran Electronics & Defense signed an agreement to develop a new tactical air-to-ground armament for flying platforms. Based on current operational experience, the particularly light weapon system called HUSSAR is intended to combine the advantages of a higher weapon load with the possibility of precise action against time-critical targets. The scalable effect of the warhead is optimized for combating stationary and mobile targets in complex operational situations while avoiding collateral damage. An innovative navigation platform, combined with various seeker head options including a semi-active laser sensor, enables high-precision target engagement.
HUSSAR wird an einem Smart Multi-Launcher getragen, der mit bis zu acht Effektoren die typische Luftfahrzeugbeladung erheblich erhöht. Die Systemauslegung erfolgt unter konsequenter Berücksichtigung der Anforderungen heutiger und zukünftiger Plattformen wie die des geplanten deutsch-französischen Kampflugzeugs der nächsten Generation oder des europäischen unbemannten Systems MALE (Medium Altitude Long Endurance). HUSSAR ist grundsätzlich auf die plattformübergreifende Nutzung an Kampfflugzeugen und unbemannten Luftfahrzeugen ausgerichtet und bietet eine effiziente, reaktionsschnelle und flugrichtungsunabhängige Wirkungsfähigkeit im Einsatz.
