The Bundeswehr wants to procure up to 31,760 training rockets in 70mm caliber for the shooting training of the crews of the Tiger attack helicopter. On April 10, the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag approved the procurement of a first batch of 15,180 training rockets for almost 54 million euros, as the Bundeswehr announced on its website.
Der KH Tiger kann mit einem Mehrfachraketenwerfer für ungelenkte 70mm-Raketen ausgestattet werden. Zur Standardbewaffnung gehören u.a. Raketen mit HE-Sprengkopf, von denen zuletzt 2022 einige tausend Stück beschafft worden sind. Hersteller ist die Thales-Tochter FZ in Belgien, die für die Entwicklung, Qualifizierung und Herstellung eine Partnerschaft mit Rheinmetall eingegangen ist.
Rockets are also part of the armament of the LKH H145M, the procurement of which the Bundeswehr recently initiated (ESuTreported). The LKH should also be able to fire guided rockets.
