The Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the German Armed Forces (BAAINBw) has agreed the delivery of SitaWare Headquarters add-ons Maritime and Fusion with the Danish software supplier Systematic. As part of the German Mission Network Block 2 (GMN 2) project, this will help the German Navy improve its command-and-control (C2) capabilities, Systematic writes. This allows the Navy to develop its Recognized Maritime Picture (RMP) and support its overall operational efficiency.

The Bundeswehr is currently expanding its GMN from the Afghanistan mission. Only recently, BWI was commissioned to deliver two relocatable data centers.

According to information from Systematic, the interoperable C4ISR software solution SitaWare Headquarters and the military IRIS message products are already being used in Germany as part of the Mission Enabling Service Bundeswehr (MESBw).

Modern naval warfare takes place in a multidisciplinary, information-rich environment, which can result in an enormous amount of data to be processed. Using SitaWare Fusion ensures that this data is correlated and fused to ensure timely decision support.

Systematic presented the maritime extension of its combat management software for the first time at IDEX 2019 and at the AFCEA exhibition 2019 (ESuTreported).

"The add-ons available on the market - SitaWare Maritime and SitaWare Fusion - add maritime functionality to the SitaWare Headquarters solution," says Jan-Niklas Flick, Business Development Manager Maritime at the German Systematic subsidiary. "Now German naval commanders can ensure they make quick, important decisions based on a comprehensive and coordinated RMP."
