KNDS shows performance-enhanced main battle tank EMBT

The two main battle tank manufacturers Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Nexter, who have joined forces to form KNDS, presented the enhanced medium battle tank (EMBT) at the Eurosatory, a demonstrator that contains many elements that are expected of a future ground combat system . The EMBT was built on an adapted Leopard 2 hull with a newly designed turret. According to the manufacturer, the tower is consistently geared towards the new sensors, effectors and protective elements. It is one of the first towers designed from the start to integrate the Trophy active protection system. As it stands at the trade fair, the EMBT has a total weight of 61.5 tons.
