The federal police receive new binocular night vision goggles. The goggles, called XACT nv33, are lightweight binocular image intensifier goggles with two 16mm image intensifier tubes that can be used by police officers helmet-mounted, with a headgear mask, or hand-held. “Controlling vehicles is just as possible with the glasses as it is to act in absolute darkness. The range of capabilities of the Federal Police is thus even better aligned to future security requirements," said a spokesman for the manufacturer Elbit Systems Germany.
In addition to the Federal Police, the Bundeswehr also uses these glasses as light image intensifier glasses. The Bundeswehr procured 6,500 of these glasses a few years ago. Now the procurement office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior has also decided on this model from several applicants. Information on the delivery quantity and order volume was not given.
