The Special Forces Command of the Navy (KSM) operates worldwide, cut off from its own forces, and in areas occupied by the enemy. The emergency services are not always connected to the terrestrial power grid. In order to be able to guarantee the medical supply quickly and flexibly, the Cyber Innovation Hub, together with the KSM and a Hamburg start-up for textile light supply, searched for an adequate alternative.

The solution: flexibly adaptable light supply for mobile forces in action (faLKE).

Using an app, carpets of light can be adjusted in color and brightness to the ambient conditions. Flashing signals and an infrared mode for establishing a connection with your own forces also expand the range of uses for the light carpets. An important criterion was a small pack size and a low weight in order not to put additional strain on the forces operating without support. In accordance with the diversity of the faLKE system, the Munster training center with the training area for the target practice center for armored troops is already testing the usability of the light carpets in urban combat with the dismounted forces in local and house-to-house combat during deployment preparation.
