Sabine Lackner is President of the Technical Relief Organization THW
Sabine Lackner has been President of the Technical Relief Organization THW since July 1st. She succeeded Gerd Friedsam, who retired on June 30th. The official inauguration is planned for the end of September.
Nach ihrem Studium in Sprachen und internationalem Recht arbeite Lackner zunächst für die Kultusministerkonferenz bevor sie 2001 als Sachbearbeiterin zum THW kam. Über verschiedene Positionen, u.a. als kommissarische Landesverbandsleiterin, Landesbeauftragte und Mitglied der Civil Emergency Planning Group der NATO stieg sie 2020 zur Vizepräsidentin des THW auf.
Lackner wants to increase the proportion of women in THW. Currently, 16 percent of the emergency services and 41 percent of the employees in the main office are women.
