Luger Julia Taubitz supports the Bundeswehr running team and reservists
Julia Taubitz won the 2019/20 Overall World Cup in luge and achieved a double by winning the 2021/22 Sprint World Cup World Cup as well as the Overall World Cup. She also won silver in the team relay.
When asked about her motivation for supporting the Bundeswehr running team and reservists, Julia Taubitz says: "I love running, it clears my head and afterwards you feel so exhausted and yet full of new energy. The fact that you can help many people while running makes it one of the most beautiful things in life.”
The running team, chaired by Major General Gert Nultsch, currently has 244 members. Initially, the Bundeswehr and reservists running team began as a loose association of people who wanted to help other people through their sporting activities and has now grown into an association with a clear organizational structure and receives support from the highest management level of the Bundeswehr. Since the Corona pandemic, a total of eight charity runs have been organized for a good cause. Further information about the Bundeswehr running team and reservists can be found herehere.
