For theLchange and departmentüoverarchingKrise management exercise (EXercise) LüKEX 22, the organizing Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) initiated the preparatory phase with a digital kick-off event. The topic of the ninth strategic LüKEX is "cyber attack on government action", as the BBK has announced. The technical partner is the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). With LüKEX, the federal government, states and operators of critical infrastructures (KRITIS) are once again optimizing their crisis management structures.

According to the BBK, the focus of the exercise this time is on the emergency mechanisms of the cyber security structures and measures to maintain state and government functions. The LüKEX series of exercises is always about networking very different actors and coming to a common language and assessment of a crisis situation. Experienced crisis managers have to think their way into the "cyber world" this time, just as IT specialists have to get to know the needs of crisis management teams. This is intended to lay a basis for coordination and decisions in future emergencies.
