The Polish Armed Forces have ordered a second tranche of 72 K239 Chunmo Multiple Rocket Launcher Systems from Hanwha Aerospace. According to the manufacturer, the contract is worth 1.6 billion dollars (equivalent to 1.5 billion euros) and, in addition to the launchers, includes the delivery of long-range CTM-290 (Chunmo Tactical Missile) missiles and the technology transfer for the MRLS launch modules.
Für die Vertragsunterzeichnung waren Polens stellvertretender Verteidigungsminister, Pawel Bejda, der Chef der polnischen Rüstungsagentur, Artur Kuptel und der stellvertretender Minister für Staatseigentum Polens, Marcin Kulasek, zur Produktionsstätte von Hanwha Aerospace in Changwon gereist und hatten sich zusammen mit ihren koreanischen Counterparts das System im scharfen Schuss vorführen lassen. Dabei wurde die CTM-290 erfolgreich vom Trägersystem abgefeuert und stellte ihre Fähigkeit zum präzisionsgelenkten Abschuss unter Beweis. Die Rakete hat eine maximale Reichweite von 290 km und einen Durchmesser von 600 mm. Besonderes Kennzeichen das Systems ist der flexible Verschuss von Raketen im Kaliber zwischen 130mm und 239mm und Reichweiten ab 36 km neben dem o.a. Flugkörper.

Aus den Komponenten des K329 Chunmo wird auf dem geschützten 8×8 Chassis P883.57 des polnischen Herstellers Jelz das Langstreckenraketenwerfersystem Homar-K aufgebaut. Zudem werden das polnische Feuerleitsystem TOPAZ und weitere Einbauteile polnischer Herkunft integriert. Die ersten zwölf System werden in Korea hergestellt. Die weiteren 60 werden nach Lieferung der Komponenten in Polen montiert.
With a framework contract from November 2022, Poland ordered 218 K329 Chunmo, which will be introduced into the force in August 2023.
The Polish Armed Forces originally wanted to procure 500 M142 Himars, but they could not be delivered in the desired time frame. 20 systems were procured via FMS and delivered in 2023. A further 486 sets of key components are to be delivered between 2026 and 2027 and integrated into 6×6 Jelz trucks together with Polish components (including TOPAZ). The MLRS are called Homar-A. Homar-A is also said to be capable of firing ATACMS missiles with a range of 300 km.
