The Ukrainian armed forces will receive a total of 25 All Terrain Tracked Carrier Warthogs in three versions from the federal government. According to the current list of support to Ukraine with weapons and military equipment dated March 28, five Warthogs in the repair and recovery vehicle version and nine in the command vehicle version were recently handed over to Ukraine. A tenth is still being prepared for submission. Ten Warthog medical vehicles are already in Ukraine.
Der Warthog ist eine für den britischen Bedarf angepasste Variante des knickgelenkten Fahrzeugs Bronco von ST Engineering aus Singapur. Die zwei Kabinen des Kettenfahrzeugs sind über eine hydraulische Knicklenkung miteinander verbunden. Das niedrige Gesamtgewicht in Verbindung mit den breiten Vollgummiketten führt zu hoher Geländegängigkeit und Schwimmfähigkeit. Das Fahrzeug kann übergangslos hartes, weiches und sumpfiges Gelände sowie Gewässer überwinden. In den Kabinen können bis zu zwölf Personen oder entsprechende Nutzlast bzw. Missionsausrüstung transportiert werden.
A 260kW Caterpillar diesel engine and a fully automatic Allison transmission accelerate the vehicle up to 65 km/h on land and up to 5 km/h in water. With a curb weight of 10.2 tonnes, the vehicle can carry a payload of 6.3 tonnes (optionally 7.8 tonnes).
The Ukraine also has more than 70 BV 206s from the manufacturer Hägglunds with comparable technology, but with a significantly lower total weight of around seven tons.
