The importance of S/4HANA for logistics

When the last so-called legacy IT systems of the Bundeswehr are phased out in 2023, the next fundamental step in the further development of the Bundeswehr’s standard application software product families (SASPF) is imminent. The goal is: transfer of essential components to SAP S/4HANA.
Der Softwarekonzern SAP Societas Europaea (SE) hat im Jahr 2015 unter der Bezeichnung „S/4HANA“ die vierte Generation seines Betriebsführungssystems Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) auf den Markt gebracht. Das „S“ steht für „simple“ und somit für die Vereinfachung der gesamten Datenarchitektur durch Nutzung der In-Memory-Datenbanktechnologie HANA („High Performance Analytic Appliance“) sowie die verbesserte Nutzung durch moderne, personalisierte Oberflächen basierend auf der Technologie SAP Fiori. S/4HANA ist allerdings mehr als nur der Nachfolger des bisherigen Systems und birgt enormes Optimierungspotenzial in technischer, prozessualer und organisatorischer Hinsicht.
