The Federal Office for equipment, information technology and use of the Armed Forces, published today on the European tendering platform TED the beginning of Participation Competition for the STH program (Heavy transport helicopter) of the Bundeswehr.

Overall, a procurement of a STH fleet of at least 44 and a maximum of 60 heavy transport helicopters along with logistical support via a scheduled delivery period of eight years is planned to Auftragssvergabe.

As potential candidates, the CH-53K LMCO and the H-47F are Boeing.

Scope of the procurement project

The scope of the helicopter fleet resulting from the total annual flight hours for a fixed and a variable number of aircraft. The predetermined number "A" is determined by the contracting in the context of use commitments (CSAR). The variable number "B" is to be calculated by the provider in the context of a given transport mission: volumes, flight profile, ambient conditions, restrictions. The contract provides for a contract for all performance segments to a contractor for turn can make use of services of subcontractors to complete.
