Boeing has passed, the first 20 modernized CH-47F Chinook to the Royal Netherlands Air Force (KLU). Deliveries to the KLU is expected to take place by the year 2021 inside.
The Dutch fleet of 20 CH-47F Chinook helicopters are equipped with the same-the-art technology such as the US Army, including digital automatic flight control, a fully integrated Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) glass cockpit and advanced cargo handling capabilities. The uniform configuration leads to lower overall life cycle costs.
The KLU currently operates a mix of Chinooks, the F-series with the Advanced Cockpit Management System (ACMS) and CH-47D Chinooks.
The competition for the heavy transport helicopters of the Bundeswehr Boeing participates with the CH-47F.
