On the morning of July 19th, the Algerian Navy training ship “Al Soummam” (PN 937) was observed in the Bay of Kiel. The 132 meter long, 5,470 ton displacement unit left the Mediterranean on July 12, 2024, passed through Gibraltar and Dover four days later. At 7:30 a.m., the ship, built at the Hudong shipyard in Shanghai and put into service in 2006, moored in Kiel's Ostuferhafen, where it will remain until Monday.

After the visit to Kiel, the training ship, which can accommodate around 200 cadets for training, is expected in St. Petersburg to take part in the celebrations marking the birthday of the Russian Navy on July 28, 2024.
