Brussels leaders – EU-Ukraine: Agreement on increasing the defense fund

On March 13, a decision in the Brussels Permanent Representatives Committee paved the way for further military aid to Ukraine. The Ukraine Assistance Facility (UAF), initially worth five billion euros, will now be set up as part of the European Peace Facility.

Military aid to Ukraine is therefore carried out – in addition to national measures – via the European Peace Facility. From this, EU member states can be compensated for weapons supplied to Ukraine.
