In the presence of the Minister for Defense Procurement of the United Kingdom, James Cartlidge MP, the CEO of Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, and the Chairman of the Board of Management of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, Ralf Ketzel, presented the ARTEC Boxer at the British Army stand at the DSEI defense trade fair UK Ltd. founded. The two shareholders of the joint venture ARTEC GmbH want to benefit from the capacities and capabilities for British Boxer vehicles that currently exist in Great Britain.
ARTEC Boxer UK Ltd. Rheinmetall announced that it will essentially perform two tasks. On the one hand, it should be the core for the realization of export orders for boxers from Great Britain. On the other hand, ARTEC Boxer UK will offer the British Army support services for the boxer.
2019 haben die britische Regierung, vertreten durch die internationale Beschaffungsorganisation OCCAR, und die ARTEC, ein Konsortium aus Rheinmetall und dem KNDS-Unternehmen Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), einen Vertrag für das Beschaffungsprojekt MIV (Mechanised Infantry Vehicle) unterzeichnet. Darin ist die Lieferung von 523 gepanzerten Transportfahrzeugen Boxer vereinbart. Die Anzahl der Fahrzeuge wurde im Januar 2022 um 100 Boxer erhöht. Die Lieferung soll in vier Varianten erfolgen: Truppentransport (Infantry carrier), Lastentransport (Specialist carrier), Führungsfahrzeug (Command post) und Sanitätsfahrzeug (Ambulance).
The first vehicles for acceptance testing have already been delivered and are currently being tested by the troops (ESuTreported).
In order to ensure the required predominant added value in Great Britain, the vehicles from the 106th example will be manufactured by the British companies RSBL and WFEL, among others. RSBL is a joint venture between Rheinmetall and BAE Systems Landsystems. WFEL is a 100 percent subsidiary of KNDS/KMW.
