The German sensor specialist Hensoldt says it is supplying four more TRML-4D radars for Diehl Defense's Iris-T SLM air defense system, which is intended to protect Ukraine from attacks from the air.As part of an order from Diehl Defense worth a mid-double-digit million amount, the radars are to be delivered to Diehl over the course of 2024, starting in January, as Hensoldt writes in a statement.
According to the manufacturer, TRML-4D uses the latest digital radar technology. It is capable of detecting, tracking and classifying various types of aerial targets. A focus is therefore on small, fast and low-flying and/or maneuvering cruise missiles as well as aircraft and helicopters. According to Hensoldt, the radar is capable of ensuring rapid detection and tracking of approximately 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 250 km.
