The simulator enables the entire aircraft crew to practice various operational strategies and to carry out their basic and advanced training. This enhances naval aviator skills in maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare without the need for expensive flight hours. In addition to the simulator, the procurement also includes other training materials, the necessary software and supporting services.

The simulator is expected to be available to Naval Aviation Squadron 3 "Graf Zeppelin" in Nordholz in 2027. The procurement is worth around 180 million euros.
