Joachim Sucker becomes director of OCCAR-EA
On February 1, 2023, undersecretary Joachim Sucker will become director of the European procurement authority OCCAR EA. He succeeds Italian Vice Admiral Matteo Bisceglia, who routinely leaves office after three and a half years.
Sucker is currently the head of sub-department Equipment IV in the Federal Ministry of Defence. Since November 2014 he has been responsible for the equipment and use of air systems, from combat aircraft to transport aircraft and helicopters to unmanned air systems and airborne and space-based reconnaissance systems.
Die Amtseinführung ist bereits am 20. Januar durch den Vorsitzenden des Aufsichtsrats der OCCAR, Vizeadmiral Carsten Stawitzki, erfolgt. Stawitzki hat das Amt seit dem 1. Januar inne.
