According to a Business Insider article from January 18, 2023, the “Heavy Transport Helicopter” armament project – with which the German Armed Forces intend to procure 60 Chinook transport helicopters – is threatened with cost increases of almost twice the estimated amount. This is strongly denied by the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg), according to a letter dated January 24 from Parliamentary State Secretary Siemtje Möller to the members of the Defense Committee.
