Interview with the Commander of the Joint Support and Enabling Command and Commander of the Multinational Command Operational Command, Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank
Interview with the Commander of the Joint Support and Enabling Command and Commander of the Multinational Command Operational Command, Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank.
ES & T:General Sollfrank, you wear two hats here in Ulm. One is that of the commander of NATO's Joint Support and Enabling Command, the other is that of the German commander of the Multinational Operational Command, which is primarily responsible for EU missions.
Should Frank:Yes, we have a very interesting and special location here in Ulm. In the Wilhelmsburg barracks there are two commandos that I am allowed to lead. One is NATO's Joint Support and Enabling Command, or JSEC for short, and the other is the Multinational Operational Command, which can essentially carry out military-strategic tasks for the European Union. I believe that with the expertise and skills we combine here, we are something special in the Bundeswehr, probably also in comparison to other countries.
ES & T:As you take stock after just over half a year of the Russia-Ukraine war: What are the lessons you have learned?
