Germany delivers four more self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine
The Bundeswehr will provide Ukraine with another four Panzerhaubitz 2000 and an additional ammunition package. According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, the delivery will be initiated immediately "despite the tense own material situation". After discussions with the industry about the accelerated supply of overhauled guns from the repair of the army, these are intended for the Ukraine.
"The Panzerhaubitzen 2000 delivered by Germany and the Netherlands have more than proven themselves in combat," emphasized Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht.
Ukraine is full of praise for the system and has expressed a desire for more howitzers. That will now be complied with. "This increases the number of these high-performance guns supplied by Germany to 14," says Lambrecht. In addition to Germany, the Netherlands also handed over Panzerhaubitzen 2000 to Ukraine. With the new delivery, their total number increases to 22.
