Die Modernisierung der Führungsfähigkeit und damit die Digitalisierung der Landstreitkräfte wurden seitens Generalleutnant Alfons Mais, dem Inspekteur des Heeres, Ende 2021 zur obersten Priorität erklärt. Unter dieser Prämisse fand am 14.-15. Mai das Herbstsymposium des Förderkreis Deutsches Heer e.V. in Bremen statt. Zur inhaltlichen Begleitung des Symposiums erschien diese Sonderausgabe des Wehrtechnischen Reports, die sich mit Digitalisierung der Landstreitkräfte befasst. Möglichkeiten zur Modernisierung der überalterten Funk- und Führungsausstattung des Heeres stehen hierbei im Fokus.
