According to Christine Lambrecht, the Ministry of Defense has already identified 65 projects that are to be financed from the 100 billion euro special fund for the Bundeswehr. Of these, 41 are already "clearly secured" in budgetary terms and can now be brought to a contract, said the defense minister yesterday in her speech on individual plan 14 in the Bundestag.
Bereits zuvor war kommuniziert worden, dass der Schwere Transporthubschrauber (STH) sowie die Kampfflugzeuge des Typs F-35 aus dem Sondervermögen bezahlt werden sollen. Lambrecht kündigte an, dass 2026 die ersten STH und F-35 als Tornado-Nachfolger der Bundeswehr geliefert werden. Bereits 2024 komme die Drohnenbewaffnung in die Truppe, sagte die Ministerin.
"We will not let up in supporting Ukraine," emphasized Lambrecht, but at the same time conceded that the Bundeswehr could hardly provide any more material. In this context, she referred to the progress made in the so-called ring exchange, in which partner countries receive compensation from Germany in return for the transfer of armaments to Ukraine.
