GSP – turning point – rethinking Christian peace ethics?
Die von Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz so bezeichnete Zeitenwende hat zu intensiven Debatten in Deutschland geführt. Russlands Angriffskrieg zeigt Auswirkungen auf vielen Politikfeldern und führt zu kontroversen Analysen und häufig emotional geführten Disputationen. Die Zeitenwende rückte das militärisch geprägte machtpolitische Handeln von Autokratien wie Russland wieder in den Mittelpunkt täglicher Diskussionen. Damit verbunden wird in westlichen Demokratien, und natürlich auch in Deutschland, immer noch um die Frage gerungen, wie geht man mit einem solchen Handeln um, welches etablierte, gemeinsame Regeln der Friedenssicherung, gebrochen hat.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced in his change of era government statement that our democracy would be fully able to defend itself again. NATO has made it clear that the focus in the coming years will again be on joint deterrence. Effective deterrence involves not only military capability but also the will to defend oneself.
