A much-noticed military clothing project is about to be procured. In Oslo, Norway, the armed forces of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland signed the framework contract for the procurement of the Nordic Combat Uniform (NCU).

This is a complete modern clothing system. It basically includes underwear, combat pants, combat shirt, field blouse, over-wet protection and over-cold protection. The NCU is intended to significantly increase the combat effectiveness of the soldiers. Particular importance was also attached to the wearing comfort of the uniforms for men and women - Sweden and Norway have compulsory military service for all genders.
