On the eve of the New Year, the Russian defense company Rosoboronexport reported on the company's results and named the most important products with great export potential that were presented to the global market for the first time in 2021. Russia's national defense equipment exporter said that despite COVID-19 restrictions, participation in international trade fairs was a success.

“In 2021, the global arms market adapted to the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. Trade fair activities have largely resumed and we have been able to contact our foreign customers directly again,” said the company’s CEO, Alexander Mikheev. Rosoboronexport took part in 10 international trade fairs abroad and 7 events in Russia.

“Rosoboronexport was able to further expand its position on international markets. The order backlog in Southeast Asia has grown significantly and the value of contracts signed with sub-Saharan African countries in 2021 reached 2.5 billion euros,” Mikheev said. During the Putin-Modi summit in India, a long-awaited contract was signed for the licensed production of AK-203 assault rifles with 100 percent value added in the country. Negotiations on new issues in the field of military-technical cooperation were also started in New Delhi.

For 2022, Rosoboronexport plans to further expand the range of weapons and military equipment exported from Russia, as well as its presence on the global market.
