The defense technology division Diehl Defense and the Australian Electro Optic Systems (EOS), which produces, among other things, ultra-light to heavy stabilized remote-controlled weapon stations and vehicle gun turrets, have concluded a strategic agreement that opens the way to closer economic cooperation. Initially, the collaboration will focus on modern stabilized and remotely controlled weapon systems (Remote Weapon Station, RWS) for the European market and NATO.

EOS's RWS technology provides the operator with precise, long-range, large-area images of the battlefield, enabling precise target engagement from cover, both day and night. With the RWS technology from EOS, which was made available to Diehl, drones can be combated by direct fire.

As part of this cooperation agreement, EOS is ready to transfer its technology to Diehl. An RWS production line is being set up at Diehl's German locations. This technology transfer ensures that European armed forces can use German-made Australian technology for the first time. An EOS weapon station has already been successfully tested on a Dutch GTK Boxer.

The agreement also facilitates further collaboration between the two companies in space and high-performance electromagnetic effector technologies.
