The launch was part of the qualification tests for the 6 × 6 combat vehicle (Engin blindé de reconnaissance et de combat, EBRC) of the French army. It took place with the participation of Nexter and MBDA under the direction of the French procurement authority for defense (DGA, Direction générale de l'armement) in their agricultural technology test center. Here, the launch on a stationary target was demonstrated. It is planned to use the system both in direct shot (LOS, line of sight) and outside the line of sight (BLOS, beyond line of sight) against armored or hardened movable and fixed targets.

The retractable launch system for two MMP guided missiles was integrated by Nexter into the turret of the Jaguar, which also contains a remote-controlled weapon station developed by Arquus and the 40 mm cannon developed by CTA-International. The optical detection during the test was carried out with a connected Optrolead PASEO vision system.

The Jaguar is part of the French Army's Scorpion program. It replaces the light wheeled armored vehicles AMX10RC and Sagaie as well as the VAB variant armed with HOT anti-tank missiles and is manufactured by a consortium of the companies Nexter, Arquus and Thales.
